Pandemonia has been devising and producing science theatre since 1988.
- Plays, demonstrations and performances which bring science to life, and make it accessible for a broad public.
- Theatre to stimulate curiosity and excite a sense of wonder.
- To explore the universe around us.
- To examine the impact of science in society.
- Dramatic. Humorous. Innovative. Informative. Interactive.
With more than 900 performances Pandemonia reaches on average 80,000 people a year, of whom 70% is under 18.
Our work has been commissioned by a wide variety of clients - from museums, universities and schools, to corporate clients, government departments and NGO's.
The company
The core company is five people: a business team, writers, designers and directors. The plays are performed by freelance actors.
Method
Pandemonia's writers combine a passion for theatre with a keen interest in science.
Scripts are extensively researched and productions are tailored to the demands of specific locations.
Whatever the subject - medicine, space flight, genomics or egyptology - we research and discover the story to tell.
The result? A lively and provocative 21st century mix of science fact and science fiction: a Pandemonia performance.
Presentation Training
Techniques derived from theatre practice teach scientists at all levels how to communicate their message simply and effectively. We currently provide courses at two universities as well as private coaching for subsidy calls.
International Science Theatre Workshops
